Frequently Asked Questions
Available 7 days. Fast response. Adelaide and surrounds.
How much does it cost?
The call-out fee is $150 within 30km of the Adelaide CBD, or $175 between 30km and 50km. That covers travel and up to one hour of searching. If more time is needed, it is $75 per half hour after that. Pensioner discounts are available. The price is the same whether the item is found or not, so there are no surprises.
If cost is a concern, please call anyway. Reuniting you with your item is the priority and we can talk about money after.
Do I pay if you don’t find my ring?
Yes, the call-out fee applies regardless of outcome. What you are paying for is time, travel, and expertise. That said, most searches succeed, especially when the rough location is known and we get there quickly.
How quickly can you come out?
Usually the same day or the next. Call or text 0433 164 587 and we will sort out a time. For beach and water searches, timing may depend on the tide, so the sooner you call the better.
What are my chances of finding it?
Better than you think, as long as you call soon. Most items are recovered when the location is known roughly and the search happens quickly. The longer you wait, the more things can change: sand shifts, ground gets disturbed, or someone else finds it first. Mark where you were and call today.
Can I hire a detector and look myself?
Yes. Detectors are available from $50 per day, picked up from St Morris, Adelaide. This works well when you know roughly where the item is and want to search at your own pace. When you pick up, you will get a run-through on how to use it properly. See the hire page for details and available detectors.
Where are you based and how far do you travel?
Based in St Morris, Adelaide. The standard call-out covers up to 30km from the CBD, with a $175 rate for 30-50km. For searches further out, call to discuss. Hire pickup is from St Morris.
Do you do beach and underwater searches?
Yes. Specialist waterproof detectors are available for beach and shallow water recovery. SCUBA diving searches are also possible, with pricing depending on depth and conditions. Call to talk through what is involved.
Can you search after rain, or when the tide has come in?
Rain generally does not affect a land search. For beaches and water, the tide matters a lot. There are windows when conditions are right, and getting there at the right time makes a real difference. Call as soon as possible and we will work out the best time.
